Baby Showers

So far I've had two baby showers.
The first one was on February 15th with the girls from the Vino Latino and hosted by Claudia, Estefy and Betty. They played a video with our families congratulating us  on our baby shower and we played a fun game, it was like pictionary but with pregnancy/baby words and my team won!!! We all had an amazing time and was really nice to see all the girls from the Vinito.

The second baby shower was yesterday (March 10th) hosted by Lesley and Theresa with some of our american friends. It was an 80s theme party so we all dressed up with 80s outfits. It was so much fun seeing everybody with their costumes and Lesley won the best outfit contest. We also played some fun games, ate yummy food and had a blast!

Latest updates

It has been long since my last post, so here are the latest updates of our lives :)

We went to Mexico for Christmas and New Years Eve holidays and we had a great time with my family and our friends. I got to Mexico a week earlier than Borja because it was my cousins graduation party in Guadalajara, there I saw my good friends Elisa and Chuy and had a good time with Brenda (my cousin).
Once we where in Aguascalientes we had a Posada with our friends and for the first time Christmas dinner was at my parents house. Also we went to the doctor because we wanted to find out the sex of the baby, I had an ultrasound and Borja and my mom heard the baby's hartbeat for the first time, but the baby was really shy to show us if it was a boy or girl.

After Christmas we went for a week to Punta Esmeralda which is located between Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita. We had a great relaxing time there, ate a lot of good food, went  on a whale watch tour, got some tan and we celebrated New Years Eve with my parents, my aunt Betty and her family and Gaby, Mundo and their family. After Vallarta we went back to Aguascalientes for a few days and got together with some friends before going back to Ann Arbor.

We got back to Ann Arbor on January 7th and that week we went again to the doctor and found out we are having a baby boy!!! He looks healthy and his name is going to be Pablo.

A few other things we did during all this time were: dinner during the Restaurant Week with Adrian and Jessica, dinner at our house with Bobby and Lesley, Super Bowl at the Briese's house, breakfast with the girls to celebrate Lesley's birthday, girls night out, went to the movies a couple of times, my weekly Vino Latino and we went to Babies R Us to open a baby registry for Pablo.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

It's already December and Christmas season!!!
The year went by so fast and we are in the final days of 2011.

Here in the US the holiday season starts with Thanksgiving, this year, like the last one, the Briese Family invited us to spend Thanksgiving with them. We all brought appetizers, side dishes and desserts, and Bobby and Lesley cooked the turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole and two pumpkin pies. We had a great time with all our friends and ate all the delicious food.

After Thanksgiving dinner comes Black Friday, this year the stores opened at 12am instead of 4 or 5 am, so we decided to give it a try. Borja and I went first to Target, at the time we got there it was funny to see everyone coming out from the store with the same TV and there was a long line to get in, so we went to Best Buy where the line was worse than the one in Target. We didn't have anything important to buy so we went back home. On Friday morning we went shopping to Target, Babies R'Us, Toys R'Us, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Best Buy and the Mall, but we didn't buy that much.

This year the first snow was on November 30th but it didn't last, after two days all the snow was gone, and two days ago snowed a little bit more, but nothing like last year.

On November 30th I also had my second prenatal appointment, it was a regular checkup but I heard the baby's heart for the first time :). On December 22nd we'll hopefully find out if it is a girl or boy!!!

This weekend we are having our Posada, this year I'm making some "ponche" but let see how it goes because they don't have all the ingredients I need, so I'll have to improvise.

We are also having a Gift Exchange with the Vino Latino girls on the 14th and I'm leaving to Mexico on the 15th.

Here are some photos of the Thanksgiving dinner, some Christmas decorations and also the other day we used our new tripod in the night during the snow! Hope you enjoy them.
