Amanda's visit

Last week Amanda came to visit me with her 2 kids, David (3 years) and Andrew (6 months).

Amanda arrived to San Francisco on Tuesday evening and we checked-in at the hotel, had dinner and back to the hotel. We stayed at the Westin San Francis in the heart of union square.

Wednesday:
We had breakfast at Sears, a famous place for its pancakes, then we rode a cable-car to the fisherman's wharf, walked around the wharf and pier 39, watched 3 guys doing a balancing act, ate clam chowder in a bread-bowl, saw some sea lions and then Amanda stayed in the piers and got into the aquarium and I went to my photo class. When I got back from my class they were back in the room....the kids were already sleeping so Amanda and I ordered room service and stayed up late talking and catching up.

Thursday:
We had breakfast at the hotel and first we went to the palace of fine arts to walk around, there we found a nice spot to take some pictures, after a while a grumpy woman that was sitting near us started telling us if we couldn't find another place to take pictures because she was trying to have some peace and Amanda told her that she was the rudest person she have ever met and that if she wanted some peace she could go to a library he, he, he.
After that we went to the golden gate and while we were walking the kids fell asleep so we found a place to sit down, enjoy the view and take more pictures, this time we made sure there wasn't anybody we could disturb he, he.
After a while we went back to the car and drove to the Disney museum but we just went to the git shop to get something for David and then we went to the Golden Gate park because we wanted to go to the Academy of Science museum but it was already closed so we drove through Haight st. to Alamo square to see the painted ladies and then back to the hotel. We didn't eat since breakfast so we were starving, first we tryed to get in to the Cheesecake Factory but the wait list was around 45 min., right in front of us was the entrance to the Burger Bar with no line so we decided to try it and it was delicious, It is a restaurant with a build your own burger menu and it has a great view of union square! After dinner we were so tired that we went back to the hotel.

Friday:
Since the day before I promised David we were going to see snakes and spiders but we got to late on Thursday, on Friday we had a quick breakfast at Starbucks and then we went to the Academy of Science Museum. This summer there is an special exhibit of snakes and lizards so of course that was the fist thing we saw, we also went to the aquarium, the rainforest, and we saw some penguins and an albino alligator. After the museum we went to Mountain View, David played with Orko and Bruno (our cats) and then we went to the Google offices to pick up Borja and back to San Francisco. We had dinner at an italian restaurant and back to sleep.

Saturday:
It was Amanda's last day, so we just walked around the pier 1 and the ferry building and we had lunch at La Mar, a peruvian restaurant, then we went to the airport to drop Amanda and the kids and after helping Amanda cheking-in Borja and I went back to San Francisco, walked around union square shops and chinatown, had a drink at the hotel bar and went to the Burger Bar so Borja could try one of the delicious burgers! After dinner we went back to the hotel.

The next day we went back to Mountain View and we went to the movies to see Harry Potter.

It was a great week and I loved to have Amanda, David and Andrew a few days with me! I hope to see them again very soon.
